About the launch
UniqueHuman is launching agents for people living with chronic conditions, with migraine as the first focus. Niq, the agent in the free iPhone app, brings together wearable signals, records from hospitals and labs, and daily check-ins by voice or text, then watches for early signs of a flare. The company describes that agent as also flagging symptoms, ordering labs, connecting a doctor, handling insurance, refilling a prescription, and delivering medication home. Founder Praneeta Pujari has said the clinician loop is US only for now, while the agent itself already runs in India. The launch is aimed at the long stretch between appointments, when a chronic condition still has to be managed with no clinician in the room. The app reads Apple Health, so it can use an Apple Watch, an Oura Ring, a Garmin, or no watch at all, and it alerts when those signals depart from a person's baseline. Logging an attack can be done by voice, which Pujari has described as a way to record pain without pressing buttons through it. Niq answers questions from that personal history, including triggers, medications, and what has helped before. Users can generate a report for a doctor and message a care team about specialists and insurance. UniqueHuman says the service is HIPAA compliant, does not sell data or use it for ads, and does not issue diagnoses. Pujari left Apple, where she worked on product planning and launches for Apple Watch and iPhone, to build UniqueHuman in San Francisco. On the company site she writes that her mother lived with chronic pain for more than a decade because of missed signals, conflicting advice, and fragmented care, and that her own headaches took years to be diagnosed as migraine. This public introduction centers migraine, while the app already lists other invisible conditions, including fibromyalgia, POTS, and Long Covid.
