How This YC Startup Booked 100 Enterprise Demos With Its X Launch

The video was created by the Clodo team.

In less than 10 days after signing, we developed the launch plan. Here's how.

Start from who books, not who sees

Clodo is a search engine for people. Describe who you want in plain English and it finds them, enriches them, and reaches out.

Prior to launch day, clients included Mercor, US News, Corgi, and the U.S. Intelligence Community.

We knew we had to use that in the copy.

We avoided the cliché "Introducing ABC to kill XYZ" since we didn't want to pit Clodo against Apollo, Clay, or ZoomInfo. A comparison hook places you in a category and gives you access to only that category's buyers.

So we led with customers instead:

Protect the click path

We did not tag Clodo's own handle in the launch post. Every tag can hurt retention. A reader who taps the brand account lands on a profile, scrolls, and forgets what they were doing.

The only tappable thing near the CTA should be the link you want demos booked through.

Same logic in the video. Here are a few of the core changes we recommended to their video team:

  • Credibility in the first three seconds: Investor and customer logos at the start.

  • Show the booking form: We asked for a shot of someone actually filling it out at the CTA. People stay through a UI shot in a way they never stay through a card that says "book a demo." Nobody books what they haven't pictured themselves doing.

  • Captions in the lower third, thumbnail matched to the first frame: Most people watch on mute, and click-through goes up when the image they tapped is the image they land on.

The highest leverage channel is the network they already have

If we could only do one thing for a client, this would be it, before creators and before copy.

We operate it as a channel:

  • A separate media kit per investor, instead of one doc dropped in a group thread: Each one has the go-live time, the account posting, the angle, and draft copy in that investor's voice.

  • A Luma event for investors and customers, a separate invite for friends and family: The ask is different for each group, so the invite is too.

  • Platform-specific actions, spelled out: On X we ask for a quote post, a comment and a bookmark rather than a plain repost. On LinkedIn: like, repost with commentary, comment, and send the link natively to two or three people in DMs.

That last one converts better than anything else in the launch and nobody asks for it. A link sent person to person carries an implicit endorsement, straight to the buyer who books.

40 warm people given a precise action at a precise time will out-convert most paid amplification.

Two layers of reach

Roughly 50 creators (back engineered from Clodo's ICP) quote posting, 250 reposting en masse. Mixing up the two is why most launches get big numbers and minimal conversion.

Each of the 50 creators gets a recommended caption in their voice. The 250 reposts keep the post moving long enough for the quote posts to do their work.

Small accounts get you into feeds the big ones already covered, and a second wave after the post has first dropped looks very different to the algorithm than the same reposts at minute zero.

A longer life on the post means a longer tail of demos.

The outcome

Around 100 enterprise demos off a single post.

Launch day was only a fraction of it.

Reposts kept resurfacing the post for days, and demos kept coming from accounts nobody had targeted, which is the clearest sign it got past the immediate network and into the market.

The product was theirs and the video was theirs.

What we brought was a creator roster picked for buyer overlap, their own network run properly, a protected click path, and a live reply layer.
