How Tavus launched Kiosk mode on X

Tavus is piloting kiosk mode with a limited number of companies. The mode puts a PAL, the company's real-time video agent, on a walk-up screen so a guest can check in by talking. A PAL has a rendered face and voice, sees and hears the person in front of it, and answers out loud. In the launch video, the agent handles guest check-in at the Tavus front desk. It takes a name, asks who the visitor came to see, says it will notify the host, points them toward the seating, and gives directions when they ask where to find a bathroom. PALs already run in live video calls and on the web. Teams build them in PAL Maker or through the Conversational Video Interface, then publish them as a widget, an embed, or a hosted page. The kiosk moves that agent into a lobby, where the visitor walks up and talks, with no menu to tap and no call to join. Tavus, a San Francisco company founded in 2020 by CEO Hassaan Raza and COO Quinn Favret (Y Combinator, Summer 2021), is taking requests from companies that want to try the pilot.
