About the launch
Delegations is now generally available, giving Factory organizations a shared way to send work to Droid from Slack, Linear, and Jira. A teammate mentions @Factory in a channel or issue comment, or assigns the issue to Factory, and Droid runs the task on a remote computer using the organization's configuration. The release opens a flow Factory had offered as a private preview, and it lands the same week as Environments, the reusable sandboxes those remote sessions run on. An administrator sets the default model, custom instructions, plugins, service account, and compute once. Teammates can then delegate without picking a computer for every request. Shared channel and issue work runs as the service account, while Slack direct messages run as the sender, with that person's Git credentials and connectors. Microsoft Teams is still marked in development in the setup docs. Configuring Delegations requires a paid Factory plan, and the person delegating needs a Factory account whose email matches the connected app. Factory builds Droid as a software development agent for work across the lifecycle, including implementing a feature from a ticket, investigating a failure, and reviewing a pull request. CEO Matan Grinberg and CTO Eno Reyes founded the company in 2023. Delegations is the org-level setup that lets that agent take work from the tools where tickets and engineering conversations already start.
