For patients managing ongoing care and the family members who run it, the San Francisco company reads consented health and insurance records, texts over iMessage, and calls pharmacies, clinics, health plans, and billing offices to book appointments, chase referrals, refill prescriptions, and check coverage. Tools in this category mostly track and remind. Vene is built to make those calls, close the loop, and keep relatives and clinicians current so one person is not relaying every update. CEO Sujal Dhakal started Vene after spending a dozen hours a week on care for his father, a disabled veteran, and his mother, who has a severe autoimmune disease. She was an early user, coordinating primary care and an endocrinologist, renewing prescriptions, and managing his younger sister's dental appointments through the product. Vene does not diagnose or practice medicine, and it flags the moments that need a clinician. The company states it is HIPAA compliant.
