About the launch
FutureClinic lets someone who already uses an AI assistant for health questions send that case to a licensed U. S. doctor and read the reply in that same assistant. The New York company, from Y Combinator's Fall 2024 batch, has opened an MCP server for the handoff. Claude, Claude Code, and Codex can start a visit from the conversation. The patient describes the problem, approves a summary, and pays on FutureClinic, and a physician writes back, typically within a few hours. The launch post names a wider set of assistants, including ChatGPT. FutureClinic's own setup guide currently connects Claude, Claude Code, and Codex, routes Instinct through the web chat, and says ChatGPT is not supported yet. The doctor can diagnose, send a prescription to a pharmacy the patient chooses, and order labs or imaging when they are appropriate. Photos and video go up on FutureClinic's site rather than through the assistant. Each plan includes a Human Signature, a short live-recorded video or audio note from the clinician who decided the case. Patients pick the doctor and can keep seeing that same doctor later. The company lists more than 300 doctors, generalists and specialists. Care runs in supported U. S. states only, is not for emergencies, and does not require insurance or a booked appointment. Doctors set their own prices. The site puts a typical one-off visit at $25 to $100, and many doctors also offer a monthly plan, typically $50 to $100. CEO Usama Syed is a board-certified dermatologist who trained at Imperial College London and is a faculty member at Mount Sinai. Co-founders include CTO Nabil Belahouane, previously a platform engineer at GoCardless and a founding engineer at Documatic, and Hassan Mirza. The company profile says three of the four co-founders are physicians. For doctors, the launch is also a way to open a chat practice, set prices and hours, and receive malpractice coverage, with AI used for history-taking and the treatment decision left to the clinician.
