Town is an AI assistant for people who do their work with a team. Each person gets a Townie that connects to email, documents, calendar, and the core systems they already use, learns their relationships, projects, and voice, and handles drafting, scheduling, research, and repeat tasks before returning finished work for approval. This launch lets those Townies ask each other questions and hand off work, sharing only what their person would share, so teams lose less time waiting on updates, intros, and approvals. Town, based in San Francisco, announced a $108 million Series B co-led by Forerunner Ventures and Menlo Ventures at a $1 billion valuation. Existing backers a16z and First Round Capital joined again, along with Better Tomorrow Ventures, Precedent.vc, Scribble Ventures, Serena Ventures, Sparked Ventures, and several angels. The company launched publicly in June 2026 with a $55 million Series A and says it reached seven figures of annual recurring revenue within weeks. Since July, paying customers have grown fourfold and paying teams ninefold, and thousands of businesses now use Townies every day. The company was founded by Jean-Denis Greze, former CTO of Plaid and now CEO, and Tony Vincent, who previously ran product for applied AI at Google. Town does not use connected customer data to train models by default and is SOC 2 Type 2 compliant. Each company owns the context its Townies build, and customers can take that context with them if they leave.
