How Public launched Agents on X

Agents on Public let self-directed investors describe a strategy in plain English and have it carried out inside their brokerage account. The agent monitors technical indicators, including exponential and simple moving averages and Bollinger Bands, places trades when the member's conditions are met, and can move idle cash into a Bond Account. A member can, for example, tell an agent to sweep cash above $20,000 into that account, the kind of cash rule shown in the launch video and on Public's agents page. The timing is practical: Agents are already live for members, and this post shows indicator checks, trade execution, and idle-cash moves running from one set of instructions. Before an agent runs, the system asks for missing details such as size, timing, and which account to use, then requires the member to approve the workflow. Once active, it follows only those approved rules, on live market data, inside the authenticated account, with no third-party platform in the path. Conditional trades can cover stocks, options, and crypto. The Bond Account is a separate brokerage account that allocates deposits across ten investment-grade and high-yield corporate bonds and requires a $1,000 minimum. Members can pause, edit, or shut an agent down, and each one keeps an activity log and a transaction history. Public is a New York multi-asset brokerage co-founded in 2019 by co-CEOs Leif Abraham and Jannick Malling. It opened an Agents preview in March 2026 and made the product generally available on August 5, 2026.
