Public, the multi-asset brokerage founded in 2019 by Leif Abraham and Jannick Malling , is opening prediction markets to its investing platform with a focus on portfolio utility rather than speculation. The company partnered with Kalshi, one of the largest prediction markets, to launch the product, with Kalshi providing the event contracts and handling the trades while giving Public users access to its markets through Public's platform. The launch is aimed at self-directed investors who already treat macro data, earnings timing, and policy outcomes as inputs to their positioning. The distinguishing piece is how event contracts plug into the rest of a portfolio. Members can trade event contracts or use those markets as signals for trades elsewhere in a portfolio, and investors approve the rules first, after which an agent can act when conditions are met. In practice that means wiring a live probability, say the odds of a Fed rate hike or the timing of an iPhone release, to a conditional action on stocks, bonds, options, or crypto held on the same account. Relevant event probabilities also surface directly on stock pages, so an Apple holder can see contract odds on antitrust outcomes or product timing alongside the ticker. The release matters right now because prediction markets have moved from novelty to a real data layer for public markets, and most access points still treat them as standalone betting venues. By exposing contracts through its API and MCP support for external AI tools, Public is positioning event probabilities as programmable inputs for agentic workflows rather than a separate app, which is consistent with the company's positioning as an agentic brokerage . Founders, operators, and investors evaluating where prediction data fits into execution stacks will find this a concrete reference implementation.

Prediction markets on a stock page is genuinely useful, but who is auditing what my AI agent decides is 'market-moving' at 3am. Feels like a great way to wake up flat.

The video edit is clean but you buried the actual differentiator in the last 8 seconds. Lead with the agent doing the trade next time.

Live probabilities as a signal for other asset classes is the interesting one. Everyone else is building the casino, you're building the dashboard on top of the casino.

'Investing for those who take it seriously' is fine. 'The terminal for people who read the footnotes' is the one you actually wanted.

hot take: this is the last version of Public that ships without agents doing 80% of the surface area. the UI in 12 months is going to look nothing like this.

Was the agent demo pre-recorded or is that live inference against real contracts? Asking because latency on event resolution is the whole ballgame here.

Naive question but if the agent takes an action I didn't preview, whose P&L is that. The disclosures page is going to be a novel.
