About the launch
Moonlit pays adults in the United States to let an AI agent draft answers to funded research questions from what it can already see, starting with email and receipts. The agent shows each draft and what it pays, and nothing is sent until the person approves it. Research teams receive combined results and never see a name, an email address, or which answer belonged to whom. The launch sits on a problem the team states outright. Research buyers pay for honest answers about shopping and daily habits, but long surveys get rushed, guessed, or dropped, while an agent with inbox access already has receipts for much of that record. The opening campaign pays $5 for two questions, hobbies and city. Later questions list their own payouts, which depend on what is open and who it is for, so amounts vary and some days nothing new appears. Each answer is held for seven days, then can be cashed out to a bank account through Stripe once the balance reaches $20. Joining is free, limited to people 18 and older in the US, and does not require an app. An iOS app is listed as coming soon. Razvan Roman announced Moonlit as a product from the team behind Pilot Protocol, where he is co-founder and CEO. He previously co-founded Two Tap, a Y Combinator company acquired by Honey, which PayPal later acquired. Connecting an agent produces an estimate of monthly earnings, and agents such as Claude can connect and check for new surveys each day.
