How Pika launched Pika X ChatGPT plugin extension on X

Pika's ChatGPT plugin puts its video, image, and sound tools in the chat and a side panel, so people writing briefs and revisions in ChatGPT can generate and edit the asset without leaving the thread. The company says it partnered with OpenAI on the release. It follows the September 2026 relaunch of Pika as a studio for complete jobs and smaller ones, including product ads, headshots, short clips, camera moves, relighting, and soundtracks. Users get more than 40 tools and 55+ models in that panel, including Google Veo 3.1, Seedance 2.5, Kling 3.0, MiniMax, ElevenLabs, GPT Image 2.5, and Pika's own model. They can name a model or let Pika pick one, with no extra accounts or API keys. Presets and tool options show up in the conversation, and a timeline handles timing, regenerated clips, transitions, effects, and music. The session can open an existing Pika library, and new generations save back to it. After the first plugin generation, Pika adds 250 credits to the account. Demi Guo and Chenlin Meng founded Pika in 2023. Both had been AI researchers at Stanford. Guo is CEO and Meng remains CTO. The plugin matters for anyone already directing creative work in ChatGPT, because the studio and the library now sit in that same thread.
