About the launch
Hermes Agent, the open-source agent from Nous Research, can now act in hosted apps such as Gmail, Linear, and Notion. You ask for an app, sign in once in the browser, and the tools are usable in the same turn, with the calls running on a Nous-hosted gateway rather than a server you install yourself. The launch went out alongside Hermes Agent v0.22.0 and opens with 50+ connectors. You do not need an existing Nous account to start. The first connection creates a free identity and does not change your model provider. Linking a Nous Portal account is optional, and doing so syncs connectors and settings across the agents you run. Each connector can be limited to read, write, or destructive actions, and teams on Nous Portal get role-based access and policies. You can connect more than one account of the same app and name them, for example a work Gmail and a home Gmail. No account is the default, so the agent has to say which one it is using. The desktop app adds a Connectors page that lists these hosted apps beside your MCP servers, with the same controls in the terminal through /connectors and hermes connectors. More connectors are planned, along with syncing MCP servers you bring yourself and choosing which tools to grant at sign-in.
