How Beam launched on X
Mac app that brings a window from another Mac onto the one you are using
What Beam launched

In June, @SamAsante and I launched Typeahead, the first product from our new company. Today we're releasing our next Mac app. It's called Beam, and we're live on Product Hunt. I've got Macs all over my house doing different work. Some run agents and local models. Others handle https://t.co/lN5Ey8CVaU

About the launch
Beam opens a chosen window from another Mac on the machine in front of you, with its own Dock icon and a place in ⌘Tab. It is for anyone who works across more than one Mac, including people who leave agents, local models, or builds running on a mini or Studio while they sit at a laptop somewhere else. The app stays on the Mac where it started, so you can use Terminal, a browser, or any other window there without taking over that machine's whole desktop in Screen Sharing. Dragging a corner on your side resizes the real window on the other Mac, streamed at your display's resolution so text stays sharp. Files move by drag or copy and paste, audio can follow just that one app, and you can take an entire screen when a single window is not enough. Traffic goes straight between the Macs over a local network or Tailscale, encrypted, and does not pass through Beam's servers. A share link opens one window in a browser on another device, and you choose whether that person can take control. Macs with no keyboard or display still list their windows. Hiten Shah and Sam Asante shipped Beam on Product Hunt as the next app after Typeahead, which they released in June. Both Macs need Apple silicon and macOS Sonoma or later. You can host as many Macs as you want for free. Using them from the Mac you sit at is limited to 20 minutes a day on the free plan, or unlimited at $12 a month, $84 a year, or $199 once.
