Standard Bots AI: faster setups, changeovers and paybacks for industrial robots
What Standard Bots launched

Introducing Standard Bots AI “We chose Standard Bots for two reasons: the speed of development is highly compressed, and the interface for programming the robot is so much simpler. With Standard Bots AI, that's even faster.” — Adrian Nistler, President and CEO, Path Machining & https://t.co/lhRBcWiji2

About the launch
Standard Bots AI is software for the Glen Cove, New York company's industrial robot arms, aimed at manufacturers who still hire outside integrators to stand up a cell and to change it when the part mix shifts. The October 15, 2026 release adds three skills the company says a frontline worker can use to program complex tasks in minutes from an iPad, with no code, no fixtures, and no outside integrator. Agent takes a plain-language request, such as a machine-tending routine, asks about the application, and builds the program with the operator. Locate finds and tracks a part from a tap on the camera feed or a short description, instead of a hand-built grid of waypoints. Inspect, developed in partnership with Roboflow, checks parts against vision models a shop trains on its own parts and flags defects such as scratches. Standard Bots says Locate can cut programming time by 90 percent by dropping that waypoint grid, and that the gain shows up on high-mix lines where parts change often. In the launch post, Adrian Nistler, president and CEO of Path Machining & Automation, said his shop chose Standard Bots for the speed of development and a much simpler programming interface, and that the new AI makes that faster still. Leif Jentoft, head of applied AI, has said a typical integrator project used to cost about a million dollars and take months to dial in, and that floor teams still could not fix the cell themselves overnight. The arms themselves, including the actuators, are designed and assembled in Glen Cove. The same software covers Spark (7 kg payload, from $29,500), Core (18 kg, from $39,500), and Thor (30 kg, from $49,500). Co-founders Evan Beard, the CEO, and David Golden have built the company around robots that factory teams can buy and run themselves.
