What Probe launched

Introducing Probe: The Agent-Native Research Stack. Our goal is simple: help AI/ML teams run better experiments, faster. Teams run research with agents now, but their work is disordered. They lose hours verifying what their agents actually did, managing environments and https://t.co/Bj8tGP5UqH

About the launch
Probe is a research platform for AI and ML teams and research labs that already run experiments with agents. It puts experiment tracking, compute setup, GPU monitoring, paper discovery, dataset retrieval, and literature review in one place, so agents can start work without the team assembling those tools by hand. The launch is aimed at a bottleneck those teams already feel: hours lost verifying what an agent actually did, managing environments, sourcing and setting up compute, babysitting runs, wiring evals, and re-explaining company context the agent should already have. The same platform keeps a shared record of past experiments, so researchers and agents can see what the team already tried and avoid repeating failed work. It also shows what people and agents are working on now, so a lead can track runs and steer the work without another status meeting. Probe's stated aim is more research progress on the same compute, with less time spent on setup and coordination. Research labs can use it to grow a team without slowing the experiment loop. AI and ML product teams can use it to stand up a research workflow without first building a frontier lab's infrastructure. The company is based in San Francisco and is part of Y Combinator's Spring 2026 batch, with David Lieb as primary partner. Founders Ashwarye Yadav, Mahit Namburu, and Richard Wei studied EECS at Berkeley. Yadav, CEO, previously shipped production ML systems at Amazon, Rippling, and Sony. Namburu, CPO, worked on inference for LoRA fine-tuned models at Databricks and on machine translation models at Apple. Wei, CTO, was the first engineering hire at Willow Voice, where he led ML infrastructure, after internships at Google on YouTube Shorts and Android XR.
