The operating system for in-house legal teams
What Neomatter launched

Today we’re launching @neomatterai (YC F26), the operating system for in-house legal teams. Neomatter picks up legal requests wherever they come from (email, Slack, Salesforce, etc) and does all the work. Then the lawyer reviews, approves, and sends. About the launch
Neomatter does the legal work that reaches an in-house team before a lawyer opens the request. It is built for general counsel and in-house lawyers, and it connects to Gmail, Outlook, Slack, Teams, and Salesforce so a contract, an employment question, or a routine approval starts as soon as the message lands, attachments included. No one files a form or forwards a thread into a new tool. That matters now because sales, HR, and finance still run through legal, and most teams still split the job across separate software for contracts, requests, and approvals. Once a request is in, Neomatter reads the documents, checks the team's playbooks and past deals, and prepares the analysis, the redlines, a recommendation, and a reply, with a citation on each point. It learns negotiation positions from agreements the company has already signed and from the discussions behind them, including the standard term, the fallbacks, who can approve a deviation, and where the team walks away. The lawyer reviews the sources, edits if needed, and is the one who sends. The product does not send anything on its own. The company was founded in San Francisco by Luke Wagner and Luke Mainwaring and is part of Y Combinator's Fall 2026 batch. It is meant to cover commercial, employment, and corporate work, along with the everyday questions legal teams already receive. Customer requests and documents stay encrypted, are kept private to the organization, and are not used to train models. Neomatter reports a SOC 2 Type I audit.
