About the launch
Ghost's Core is a $3,499 machine for people who want a personal agent that runs continuously and keeps their context at home. It connects to apps, files, screen history, wearables, and smart-home devices, builds that context over time, and is designed to act without a new prompt. The company says models run entirely on the device, personal data does not leave the home, and there is no subscription. Core uses an NVIDIA RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell GPU with 24 GB of GDDR7 memory, an AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, 64 GB of DDR5, and 1 TB of storage, rated by Ghost at 770 AI TOPS. Models on the device include Qwen 3.8-27B, Gemma 4-31B, and Muse-Glimmer-30B, and owners can add others. The first batch is sold out and is scheduled to ship on October 31. Nineteen-year-old CEO Zain Javaid and co-founders Nicholas Chua, Yifei Chen, and Gautam Sharda brought the San Francisco company out of stealth on October 5, 2026, after a year of building, with an $11 million seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz. Javaid has described Core as a box without a screen that people use from a phone or app, with software, logic, and model weights stored on the device so it can keep running if Ghost shuts down. The launch post says the company is building an ecosystem around personal intelligence the owner controls.
