How Bland launched Business Agents on X

Business Agents put a branded contact, with the company's name and logo, into a customer's iMessage app. A business sends its website URL and Bland builds an agent that can message customers, connect to the company's APIs, and handle requests inside the thread. Setup takes under 30 seconds. The agent can browse the website during a conversation and turn live details, such as rates or a previous order, into cards the customer sees without leaving the chat. It can also collect a payment in the thread, use iMessage features such as tapbacks, and carry the same context into a phone call. The personality, first guessed from the tone of the website, can be edited in the dashboard or by texting the setup agent. Bland was co-founded in 2023 by Isaiah Granet and Sobhan Nejad as an enterprise platform for AI phone calls. It builds its own voice, speech to text, language model, and text to speech stack. Business Agents extend that infrastructure into iMessage for customers who would rather text than wait on hold.
