About the launch
Adam Workspace is where hardware teams run AI agents across the CAD, CAE, and PLM tools they already use, and get finished engineering work back. It is for mechanical engineers designing in SOLIDWORKS, Onshape, Autodesk Fusion, Siemens NX, CATIA, Creo, Inventor, and related systems. This launch matters because a typical hardware change still has to move between design, simulation, and product data, and teams do not have to migrate those files into a new CAD system to use it. An agent can generate a part from a prompt, turn a 3D model into 2D engineering drawings, and iterate a design in a loop between CAD and finite element analysis in Ansys, Abaqus, COMSOL, or Simcenter. On the PLM side it connects to Arena, Windchill, SOLIDWORKS PDM, and Teamcenter. When an engineering change order arrives or a part fails, it can gather failure data from PLM and simulation and produce new prototypes of that part. It reads geometry, bills of materials, drawings, and revisions together, keeps the BOM in sync as the model changes, flags part-number, quantity, and revision mismatches, and checks the design for manufacturability against company documents. The company was founded by Zach Dive and Aaron Li, is based in San Francisco, and is backed by Y Combinator. Adam says it is SOC 2 Type I approved, that model inputs are not used for training under its providers' commercial terms, and that engineering data stays private on enterprise plans. Edits go through the existing CAD file. The model is regenerated, downstream feature and BOM changes are shown, and an edit that would break a parent-child relationship is flagged instead of forced through.
