Tempo is an AI health companion from The Wellness Company that lives inside iMessage, so users can chat with it about their goals without opening a separate app. It pulls data from wearables, lab results, and daily lifestyle inputs like diet and habits, then builds personalized protocols around what a user is actually trying to do, whether that is losing weight, training for a first marathon, or fixing a sleep routine. The app uses AI to help clients gather and synthesize data from TWC's other apps, wearables, and inputs on diet, habits, and lab results. The company was founded by Presh Dineshkumar, who spent seven years in media and venture capital with Jason Calacanis' Launch in Silicon Valley before returning to Toronto, and childhood friend and software developer Dray Williams , who serves as CTO. Before Tempo, they shipped three narrower apps under the same studio: cold plunge and sauna tracker GoPolar, sunlight monitor SunSeek, and mobility app Posture AI . Those apps have collectively attracted tens of thousands of users, over 10,000 paying customers, and more than six figures in annual recurring revenue. This launch matters because it marks TWC's shift from a portfolio of single-purpose trackers into one connected product. The company wants to evolve from a set of individual health apps into a focused startup built around Tempo, an AI companion users interact with through iMessage. The seed round, nearly $1.6 million CAD led by BDC Capital , funds team growth and the rollout of Tempo as the connective layer across the studio's existing data and users.

Tempo is a cute name until you remember there are already three health apps called Tempo on the App Store. Hope you SEO'd your way out of that one.

the launch video has that soft piano bed and slow zoom on the phone shot, we've officially entered the health-app cinematic universe. needs one more shot of someone jogging at golden hour to complete the set.

ok wait, 'built to help you live longer' is a wild claim to put on a v1. what's the actual feedback loop, blood panels or vibes?

before I download, where's the data sitting and who's training on my labs. companion is doing a lot of work in that sentence.

and to be clear, 'we don't sell your data' is not an answer to that question.

every AI health companion demo shows the same 'you had 6h of sleep, try magnesium' response. show me it telling someone their protein target is unhinged, then I'll believe the model does anything.

tweet copy is clean but the two-image attachment split the announcement energy in half. one hero shot next time, let Tempo breathe.
