Perplexity Teammates are agents that hold an ongoing job for people on the Max plan. Give one a responsibility, such as managing a growth campaign, triaging bug reports, tracking metrics, or researching a market, and it plans the tasks, brings in more agents when the work grows, and follows through until the result is ready for review. Perplexity’s examples also cover ad spend, sales follow-up, overdue invoices, and code fixes that end in a pull request. Each teammate starts from the projects, skills, and memory already in Perplexity Computer, and runs on its own desktop and browser. The launch extends Computer, whose earlier agent sessions were temporary, into work that stays assigned. Teammates watch for changes and act without a new prompt, pass tasks to other teammates, and can message human colleagues in Slack. Each one keeps a single thread in the sidebar, where you can read what finished, change the plan, or take over the desktop. Perplexity is releasing this first on the web for Max subscribers, with iOS, Android, and native desktop and mobile apps still coming. The Verge reports that Max costs $200 a month. For a promotional period, that plan includes a usage grant, and after the grant teammates draw on the credits already included with Max. Perplexity is the San Francisco answer engine founded in 2022 by Aravind Srinivas, Denis Yarats, Johnny Ho, and Andy Konwinski.
