About the launch
Ploid gives developers, sales and recruiting teams, and AI agents a searchable index of public information on people and companies. You describe who you need in plain language, and the product turns that request into criteria, checks candidates against them, and returns matches with evidence. The company says the index covers more than 2 billion people from professional and social sources, and that a name, email, LinkedIn URL, and X handle can be resolved to the same person, with work history and contact details filled in from newer public pages when asked. Hernandez's launch video makes the case that agents can already write code and book travel, but still need a dependable way to look up people. Search, enrichment, and identity matching are exposed through a REST API, a CLI, and an MCP server, so Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, and Gemini can call the index directly. In the demo, a query for heads of growth at Series A fintech companies in New York returns a sample before anything is billed, each row comes back with evidence, and extra fields such as the last funding round can be added before export. Ploid was founded in 2025, is in Y Combinator's Fall 2026 batch, and lists San Francisco as its location. Co-founder and CEO Manny Hernandez previously worked on AI and machine learning recommendations at Wander and did LLM research at NYU. Co-founder Kamran Karic previously did neuroscience research at Tsinghua University. The company lists Y Combinator and Founders Inc as investors.
