Motion is a text-to-video agent for motion design, built by the San Francisco startup Mosaic, founded in 2024 by Adish Jain and Kyle Wade . Its new Astra mode is aimed squarely at founders on launch day: paste a website URL and Motion produces a finished launch video with motion graphics, voiceover, music, and captions, without a designer, editor, or agency in the loop.
The underlying product handles the full production pipeline, so a single prompt kicks off research, script, design, motion, voiceover, music, and an edit you can shape by hand . Astra collapses that even further for a specific job by reading the site itself and inferring the story, the brand system, and the scenes, then rendering a cut ready for a homepage hero or a social drop. Beyond launches, Motion also targets article-to-video, explainers, product demos, and cinematic launch videos from a prompt .
The launch matters because product-hunt-style reveals increasingly live or die on a scroll-stopping video, and most small teams still ship without one because motion work is expensive and slow. Astra pushes the marginal cost of a launch video toward the cost of writing a URL, which is a meaningful shift for solo founders, small marketing teams, and anyone shipping frequently enough that a bespoke edit per release is unrealistic.

The first 3 seconds of that demo video actually hook. Most AI product launches bury the payoff at 0:47 and wonder why nobody watches past 0:12.

Fed it a landing page with three vague headlines and a stock hero image. Output was more coherent than the site, which is either flattering or deeply insulting.

Building in the adjacent lane and yeah, URL-to-video is the right wedge. The interesting fight starts when everyone's demo reel looks the same in six months.

Captions are fighting the lower-third safe area in the demo. Also the voiceover mix is hotter than the music bed by a noticeable margin.

Curious what a render costs you per video at the quality shown. Voiceover plus music licensing plus GPU time is not a friendly stack to price flat.

Every launch video will be an Astra launch video by Q2 and then nobody will trust launch videos again. Perfect little arms race you've kicked off.

Paste URL, get video. My last agency quoted six weeks for the same thing and asked for a mood board. Somewhere a motion designer just felt a chill.

How many people actually built this? Asking because if the answer is under ten I need to go lie down.
