Studio 4.0 is an update to ElevenLabs' video editor inside ElevenCreative, aimed at creators and marketers who currently juggle separate tools for footage, voiceover, music, and cutting. Video production is usually split across tools: one for generating footage, one for voiceover, one for music, one for editing. Studio 4.0 brings the full process into a single project. Users describe a shot, generate it directly onto the timeline, and refine it in place alongside voiceover, sound design, and captions without exporting or re-uploading between apps. The release rebuilds the core editing surface around AI generation rather than bolting it on. The timeline supports frame-level zoom for exact cuts, clip snapping for accurate placement, and clips that stay in sync as you move them. Captions behave like any other clip and can be split, merged, or corrected on the timeline. A new Studio Agent sits inside every project as a co-editor. Describe an idea and it drafts a first cut on the timeline, placing clips, generating voiceovers, and syncing sound effects to your footage. It analyzes clips frame by frame, so you can ask for a sound effect at the exact moment a product appears. Control passes back and forth between the agent and the user as needed. ElevenLabs, founded in 2022 by CEO Mati Staniszewski and CTO Piotr Dąbkowski, built its reputation on voice synthesis, and Studio 4.0 signals a deliberate push beyond audio into full video production. Generation now spans video from a prompt, images for storyboards or stills, voiceovers from over 10,000 voices in 32+ languages, and generated music and sound effects , all managed on a rebuilt playback engine with team commenting attached to individual clips. For operators watching the AI video space, the launch matters because it collapses generation and post-production into one project file rather than treating them as separate stages in a pipeline.

The demo cuts are so clean I can smell the After Effects license. Whoever edited this deserves the raise, not the AI.

Everything in one canvas is nice until you realize the render button is now doing six jobs. Curious how long a 2 minute export actually takes.

Genuine question: is this the last major video editor that ships without an agent driving the timeline? Feels like the ceiling for manual tools.

Would love a technical note on how the multimodal assets stay temporally aligned across generations. Is there a shared latent or is this stitched at the timeline layer?

Tweet copy reads like a feature list wearing a trench coat. The product is cool, the pitch deserves a second draft.

Onboarding better not make me pick a workspace, invite teammates, and name a project before I can hear a voice. First tap to first output is the only metric that matters.

Docs page or it didn't ship. Also please tell me there's an API before the DevRel team gets swarmed on Discord.

Voiceover on the launch video is suspiciously good. Almost like they know a guy.

How does per-seat pricing hold up when every click spins up four models in the background? Someone on the finance team is watching the GPU dashboard sweating.

Shipped something similar internally at Meta in 2019 called Reels Studio. Very different problem but the timeline metaphor is exactly the same, funny how everything converges.

Three launches in this category this month and this one has the most restrained demo. Restraint is underrated when everyone else is doing 90 second sizzle reels.

Cool, but does it do Premiere Pro keyboard shortcuts. Asking for the millions of us still living in 2019.
