Synthesia is rolling out Assistant, a prompt-driven workflow inside its AI video platform that turns a document, URL, script, or short description into a finished video. Users describe the video they want to create, set a duration, and choose a template and brand kit, with options like Cinematic for shorter scenes with frequent cuts or Presentation for longer, denser scenes best suited to content-heavy material. The pitch this week is speed and completeness in one pass: Assistant structures the narrative, writes the script, lays out scenes, adds motion graphics, and drops in an avatar using a company's colors and brand elements.
The launch matters because it consolidates work that previously required a script writer, a designer, and an editor into a single prompt-to-draft step aimed at business teams producing training, onboarding, sales enablement, and internal communications content. Synthesia positions Assistant as a way to get a first draft from a prompt, file, or link, then refine it through in-editor chat instead of manual editing, and the underlying platform supports presenter-led videos for training, onboarding, sales enablement, internal communications, and marketing. It also builds on the direction set by Synthesia 2.0, announced in June 2024, which pushed the product beyond simple talking-head clips toward business video communication with personal avatars, AI video assistant workflows, and screen-recording features .
The launch is being led by CEO Victor Riparbelli, who posted the announcement. Riparbelli co-founded Synthesia in 2017 with a team of AI researchers , and the company has spent the years since moving from generative video research into a workplace tool used for producing corporate video at scale.

The cut from 'drop a URL' to a finished scene in the demo is doing heavy lifting. What got edited out between those two shots, be honest.

The thread structure is clean but you buried the avatar reveal in tweet 3. That's your thumbnail moment, lead with it next time.

Curious what the render queue looks like at scale when every marketing team hits 'generate' on Monday morning. Feels like a fun infra bill.

Ops question: how does brand kit propagation work across a 500-seat org when someone updates the primary color at 4pm on a Friday.

Avatar lip sync looks solid but the lower-third animation in the demo has zero breathing room. Give the text a beat before it flies off.

Tagline rewrite for the tip jar: 'Describe it. Watch it ship.' You can keep 'all-in-one AI video platform' for the SEO team.

Been telling my cofounder we're 3 weeks from launching our video tool. Cool, guess I'm now 4 weeks out.

Where does the uploaded document sit while Assistant is chewing on it, and for how long. Enterprise legal is going to ask before the PM does.
