About the launch
For teams that need a metric 3D record of a real site, Echo-3 turns a few minutes of iPhone capture into a photorealistic Gaussian splat scene scaled to the physical space. Open the SpAItial app, walk the area, and the model returns a world you can move through, measure, and share as a link that opens in any browser. The same capture covers a single room, a multi-floor building, outdoor areas, and public spaces, and it does not require extra cameras, a tripod, or a long scan. A short phone capture always leaves gaps. Echo-3 builds the scene from what the camera saw, then fills in the missing regions so they match the surroundings. The result keeps the appearance of the capture and produces metric geometry, so dimensions and distances match the real space. It follows Echo-2, which turned a single photo or panorama into an explorable 3D world, and uses a fuller walkthrough to recreate existing places with greater fidelity. Enterprise customers can call the model through an API for real estate visualization, simulation inputs, and scene understanding by AI agents. The iOS app is on the App Store now, new subscribers get the first month free, and Android is coming soon. SpAItial was founded by Matthias Niessner, the company's CEO, a TU Munich professor, and a co-founder of Synthesia, together with Luke Rogers, Ricardo Martin-Brualla, and David Novotny. The company builds models that generate real and imagined environments and reason about their appearance and physics.
