About the launch
Serval builds an enterprise service management platform that automates employee requests for large companies. Employees in IT, security, HR, finance, and legal describe a workflow in plain language, and Catalyst, the company's automation agent, turns that description into code that an administrator reviews before it is published. A separate help desk agent then resolves incoming requests using only those approved tools, covering access changes, onboarding and offboarding, troubleshooting, and hardware and software assets. The product started on the IT help desk after Serval was founded in 2024, and customers have since extended it into other departments. Cofounders Jake Stauch and Alex McLeod, who previously led product and engineering at Verkada, announced a $150 million Series C on October 29, 2026. Sequoia led the round at a $3 billion valuation. It is the company's third financing in 12 months and brings total funding to $277 million, three times the $1 billion valuation from a $75 million Series B in December 2025. Headcount is already 10 times what it was a year ago. The San Francisco company plans to hire more than 500 people over the next 12 months, including more than 100 automation engineers for ProServal, a new services group that works with enterprise teams to find repetitive processes and build the automations. The capital is for taking that model beyond IT and competing with ServiceNow for the service management system of record. Customers named with the announcement include Fox Corporation, WPP, Live Nation, Ramp, and Lucid Motors. Stauch told Reuters that Lucid replaced ServiceNow with Serval in 45 days, a cutover that covered IT service management, the configuration management database, and hardware and software asset tracking. Serval says two Fortune 20 companies onboarded in the last six months, that most customers go live within 30 days, and that annual recurring revenue has doubled every quarter since the Series B.
