How Phaze raised its $8.75M seed round on X
Cloud computers for people and AI agents, accessed from anywhere
What Phaze launched

Today we’re announcing an $8.75M seed round for Phaze. Companies aren’t ready for how many computers people and AI agents are about to need. And it’s happening just as computer prices are up 3x. Chris and I spent years building Parsec to make a computer thousands of miles away https://t.co/rNrj0oGtIc

About the launch
Phaze gives employees and AI agents remote access to powerful computers a company already manages. It is aimed at people doing 3D, design, CAD, and software development who need a remote workstation to stay responsive, with low-latency input, fluid graphics, crisp color, and multi-monitor support. Agents such as Claude or Codex can operate those same machines through the desktop or the command line, with no computer-use software installed on the host, and a person can take or return control inside the same session. The product is launching with an $8.75 million seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz, with Indie, NextView, Makers, and Lerer Hippeau participating. The round arrives as companies try to stretch costly hardware that often sits idle. Phaze says high-end workstations frequently cost upwards of $10,000, and it lets IT pool those machines and assign them to people or agents as demand changes, whether the computer sits on a desk, in a server room, or in a data center. Agents only reach machines their user can already access, under the organization's existing identity and access policies. Admins get directory sync, role-based permissions, audit logs, on-prem relays, and a platform that is SOC 2 Type II certified and penetration tested by an independent firm. Co-founders Benjy Boxer and Chris Dickson previously built Parsec, the remote desktop company Unity acquired in 2021. Andreessen Horowitz backed Parsec and is leading this round through general partner Martin Casado. Phaze, which is headquartered in Utah, plans to use the funding to expand engineering, accelerate product development, and support customer growth. Agent access runs through an MCP server, so a computer-use agent can work in the applications on a remote machine, including in the background while the person keeps working on their own computer.
