DRAMA is an AI facial expression editor for video and images, built to let directors and editors change the emotion or performance in a clip without calling the cast back for reshoots. Users upload footage, pick which parts of a performance to preserve and which to alter, and dial the change up or down with an intensity slider, with support for blending emotions rather than swapping one mask for another. The tool is aimed at ad agencies, film and OTT post-production, and short-form content teams who routinely need another take but can't afford the schedule or budget to get one.
The product comes from Bengaluru-based AI startup NeuralGarage , where the name is short for Director-Ready Articulation Manipulation Algorithm . NeuralGarage was founded in 2021 in Bangalore by Mandar Natekar, Subhabrata Debnath, Anjan Banerjee, and Subhashish Saha , and the launch tweet for DRAMA was posted by co-founder and CTO Subhabrata Debnath. The same team is already known for VisualDub, its lip-sync system that has been used in Kesari Chapter 2, episodes of Special Ops, the "Chikitu" song in Coolie, and War 2 , which gives DRAMA a credible production pedigree inside Indian film and streaming workflows.
The launch matters now because generative video tools have mostly focused on creating clips from scratch, while post teams still work with real footage of real actors and need surgical edits rather than full regenerations. DRAMA slots into that gap, extending NeuralGarage's existing bet on editable, controllable performance after the camera has stopped rolling. The company has flagged three initial verticals in its launch thread, consistent with its earlier traction in advertising, film, and OTT content.

An intensity slider for acting is such a cursed and brilliant framing. Casting directors are going to have a very weird Tuesday.

Every demo frame looked flattering. Any chance of a raw unedited pass with a wider range of skin tones and lighting conditions?

The cut from the sad take to the smiling take at 0:14 is the actual demo. Whoever edited that teaser understood the assignment better than most launch videos this month.

The voiceover in the demo did a lot of heavy lifting. Half the magic was 'and now watch this' timed perfectly to the slider drag.

Tagline rewrite on the house: 'Reshoot the face, not the shoot.' You're welcome.

Three industries in one thread is ambitious. I clicked expecting ads, film, and gaming and I'm scrolling to confirm.

Please tell me the slider has keyframes. A single global intensity across a 6 second clip is going to look haunted on anything longer than a reaction shot.

Curious how you're handling temporal identity drift across longer clips. Is this a diffusion backbone with a face embedding anchor or something more exotic?

How small is the team that shipped this? Asking because my co-founder keeps telling me we need to hire and I keep sending him launches like this.

Pricing page is suspiciously absent. Per-render, per-seat, or 'contact us and we'll guess your budget'?

Any procurement path for studios with locked-down vendor lists? SOC2, data residency, model-training opt-out, the usual boring questionnaire.

Would love to chat for a piece I'm working on about the reshoot-killing wave. DMs open whenever you want to go on record.

First-tap test: I want to upload a clip and see something change in under 10 seconds. If the onboarding makes me pick a 'workspace' first I'm closing the tab.

Ad agencies are going to eat this alive and then quietly never mention it to their clients. Fulfillment loop is basically Slack to Slack.
