About the launch
Conductor is a Mac app for engineers who run several coding agents at the same time. Each task gets its own isolated copy of the repo, with its own branch, terminal, diff, and review path, and the app can open a pull request, merge the work, and archive the workspace. The agents come from Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and OpenCode, billed through the developer's own subscriptions and keys. Conductor Cloud ran those agents in isolated microVMs so they could keep working for hours. The company site lists more than 100,000 builders. On November 4, 2026, co-founder and CEO Charlie Holtz announced that Conductor is joining Meta. The team is moving to Meta Superintelligence Labs to work with Nat Friedman and Alexandr Wang, and Holtz said a new interface would be ready early next year. Meta confirmed the acquisition. Terms were not disclosed. Holtz and co-founder and CTO Jackson de Campos started the company in 2024, went through Y Combinator's Summer 2024 batch, and launched the product in July 2025. In March 2026 they raised a $22 million Series A from Spark and Matrix, and wrote that dozens of engineers at Meta were already using Conductor. The current product is winding down on a published schedule. New signups and downloads stopped the day of the announcement. Conductor Cloud goes read-only on November 13 and shuts down on November 20, when the company begins deleting cloud user data. Users can transfer a cloud workspace to a Mac or export their data before that date. The local Mac app keeps receiving new models and critical bug fixes until early 2027.
