About the launch
Anthropic has added a gallery of ready-made artifacts to Claude for Legal for in-house teams and law firms that want a faster start on contract review, regulatory tracking, and citation checks. Each artifact opens with a worked example, so a lawyer can see how the output comes together before adding their own documents and connectors and sharing it with colleagues across the business. The October 28, 2026 release answers the requests Anthropic heard most often after Claude for Legal launched in May: simpler setup, and an easier way to work with people outside the legal department. The Anthropic-built set covers the tasks legal teams raised most often. Cite check flags mismatched quotes, wrong page numbers, and sources that do not support a claim. Tabular review and the playbook deviation board handle contract stacks, one by laying terms such as severance and non-competes into a table linked to the exact language, the other by comparing paper with standard terms and routing each difference to the person who approves exceptions. Regulatory horizon scan places upcoming rules on a timeline based on the company's business and where it operates, ranked by impact. A matter board turns engagement letters, emails, or spreadsheets into one view of open matters with owner, next step, and deadline, and a jurisdiction survey matrix compares a topic such as data breach notice rules across states or countries. Claude produces the first pass with a link back to every source, and a lawyer applies judgment to the result. Teams can ask Claude to tailor an artifact and pull in playbooks or research through connectors, so documents do not have to be uploaded by hand. Anthropic has added more than 60 legal connectors since May, including Bloomberg Law, Filevine, Ivo, Legora, and Patlytics. Sharing settings support privacy and ethical walls between teams. The same gallery includes tools built with Goodwin, Harvey, Foley & Lardner, and PwC, plus nine access-to-justice artifacts, five of them from nonprofits Anthropic supported with Claude credits.
