Atlas is World Labs' new omni world model, aimed at teams building in graphics, robotics, and simulation who need a single system that can generate images and video, reconstruct 3D scenes, and let a user move a camera through space with precise control. World Labs describes Atlas as "a multimodal autoregressive diffusion transformer," pretrained from scratch, with camera geometry treated as a native input rather than something coaxed out of a text prompt . In practice, it produces images and videos with precise camera control, including videos up to one minute at 1440p , and reconstructs scenes as 3D Gaussian splats from as few as one image up to dozens.
The launch matters because it consolidates work that previously required separate video, reconstruction, and simulation pipelines. The new world model is designed to replace handoffs among video, reconstruction and simulation tools, using images, camera poses, and depth maps to generate controlled video, reconstruct scenes, and produce simulated robot-camera observations . Atlas builds directly on the company's prior work, including Marble, World Labs' first commercial multimodal model, which went public in November 2025 , and follows the July 2026 acquisition of SceniX to deepen robotics coverage.
The company was founded in January 2024 by Fei-Fei Li (Co-Founder, CEO), Justin Johnson, Christoph Lassner, and Ben Mildenhall to develop 3D environment generation, complete with real-time simulation , a group with deep roots in computer vision, generative modeling, and neural rendering. Atlas is entering early access with select partners , so the immediate audience is founders and research teams who want to prototype spatially grounded applications, from film and game previsualization to robot policy training, against a single model rather than stitched-together components.

ok wait, pixel-perfect camera control on generated video? my Blender rig just filed for unemployment.

So it's like Google Street View but the streets are hallucinated. Wake me when it does Google Maps.

Curious if the team can share any details on training data provenance or partnerships behind Atlas. Happy to chat off-platform.

That launch video does a lot of heavy lifting. The synchronized camera orbit reveal at 0:18 is genuinely the best product demo shot I've seen this quarter.

We prototyped something adjacent inside Geo in 2019 and killed it because nobody could figure out the product surface. Curious what wedge Atlas finds first.

Tagline rewrite, no charge: 'Atlas: point a camera at anything, including things that don't exist yet.' You can Venmo me.

ok wait the fact that the tweet copy is three short lines and still says more than most Series B decks. respect to whoever cut the fluff.

Reminds me of what the Decart and Runway folks are circling, but the 3D reconstruction angle is the wedge here. Interesting portfolio-adjacent play.

Beautiful demo. What does inference cost per generated second look like, and is anyone actually retaining on tools like this beyond week two?

Any plans for an open weights release, a research paper, or even a hosted playground with rate limits? Would love to know what the community can actually touch.

hot take: 'world model' is doing Olympic-level lifting in this tweet and I am here for it.

Cool tech, but 'first multimodal world model' is a claim that will age like milk in a warm car. Bookmarking to revisit in April.

Every generated frame is basically a spatial NFT if you squint. Someone's going to tokenize camera paths within 6 months, mark my words.

Been telling my followers I'm 3 weeks out from launching a spatial video tool. Now I'm 3 weeks out from a pivot.

The voiceover cadence on this drop is unusually calm for an AI launch. No hype music, no laser sfx, just vibes and orbit cams. More of this please.
