Whip is a browsing and publishing home for interactive software , aimed at the growing pool of makers using AI to generate playable things: games, 3D worlds, simulations, generative art, and small digital toys that today mostly circulate as screen recordings on social feeds. The Whip Web launch extends the product from mobile into the browser, giving every creation a shareable page with plays, likes, and comments, plus creator channels and search so an experience can find an audience instead of vanishing when a viral link scrolls past. It matters now because models capable of generating live, explorable worlds (the tweet points to Astra as an example) are producing far more of this content than existing video and app-store surfaces can host. The product lets viewers scroll a feed and open experiences directly in the browser rather than watching someone else play them, and it lets builders publish work to a discovery surface rather than a static link. Founded in 2023 by Agam Jain and Samagra Sharma, Whip is a Y Combinator company based in San Francisco, and previously shipped a mobile app for creating and discovering short interactive posts called "whips". For founders and operators tracking the creator economy, Whip Web is a bet that generative software becomes its own consumer medium with its own dedicated platform, in the same pattern video followed when it moved off file shares and onto YouTube. The relevant question for the category is whether a dedicated feed can concentrate attention around AI-generated interactive content before general-purpose social platforms absorb it.

The 'step inside' framing is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. Show me one experience that isn't a glorified tech demo and I'll believe the YouTube comparison.

Cool, but who's moderating a billion user-generated interactive worlds when someone builds a haunted DMV? Trust and safety is going to eat this category alive.

hot take: the tweet buries the actual product under three manifesto lines. lead with the demo, philosophize in reply 4.

That launch video needed a cut at 0:03, not 0:11. Whoever paced the intro left half the audience on the shore.

I remember when we called these 'websites' and they had a guestbook. Genuinely curious what makes this different beyond the AI model behind it.

First 10 seconds of the launch reel do not sell interactivity, they sell vibes. Retention graph is going to look like a ski slope.

Been telling my group chat for 3 weeks that Astra-style models were going to birth a new content substrate. Whip beat me to shipping, respect.
