About the launch
TrueMile, a San Francisco company in Y Combinator's Fall 2026 batch, runs its own trucks with agents that source freight around customer commitments, compare routes and assignments against revenue, costs, driver hours, and schedules, and then negotiate with brokers, dispatch drivers, and send trip updates. Shippers with recurring truckload freight in Texas and the Sunbelt can book lanes directly, and the company is hiring company drivers and owner-operators. Because TrueMile operates the equipment, it can check each plan against miles actually run and work toward fewer empty miles and a lower cost of moving goods. Founder and CEO Harpreet Dhaliwal took over his family's trucking business at 19, restructured its debt, upgraded the fleet, and returned it to profitability. He has generated more than $7 million in trucking revenue, and the tools from that operation became TrueMile. He holds an MS in Data Science. Founding engineer Daniyar Abykhanov built voice agents at Kazakhstan's largest bank that took over the work of a 225-person call center. A person still approves every load and signs every rate confirmation. The company reports that over four months, loads selected by its AI earned 17% more revenue per mile than the market average on dry van and 8% on reefer, and that its trucks averaged 10% more miles per month than the industry average. TrueMile starts with human drivers and intends to put autonomous trucks to work on its routes once they are available.
