Summation

Summation is an enterprise AI platform that generates business analysis executives can act on without a team of analysts fact checking the output. The Bellevue, Washington startup describes itself as a "decision-grade AI platform" that helps enterprise leaders draw insights from large volumes of internal data. The software sits on top of existing data systems and runs massive calculations automatically, testing different scenarios and using AI agents to explore different questions in parallel, while also automating financial reconciliations, variance analysis, and management reporting. The launch video shows the product building weekly business reviews on its own, running checks against source data to catch numbers that look off, then producing an Excel model of remediation options and a dashboard to monitor the fix. The company came out of stealth on October 1, 2025 with $35 million from Benchmark and Kleiner Perkins, with Chetan Puttagunta and Josh Coyne joining the board. It is led by CEO Ian Wong, co-founder and former CTO of real estate giant Opendoor and Square's first data scientist , alongside co-founder Ramachandran "RC" Ramarathinam, who led Opendoor's core transaction platform. The team has grown to about 40 employees, with a majority in person at the company's Bellevue office. The pitch matters now because general purpose assistants like ChatGPT and Claude are being used for analysis work they cannot verify, and Wong is positioning Summation as the version that checks itself before it answers. Early customers include Fanatics and Lineage, and Summation said its platform has helped Fanatics uncover more than $10 million in growth and savings opportunities while cutting reporting cycles. For founders and operators watching the agent space, this is a bet that enterprises will pay for verified output and long running workflows rather than raw model access.
