Models the distribution grid to find where new power connections fit
What Ryhla launched

Today, we launch Ryhla (YC F26) Solar, batteries, EV chargers, data centers: everyone wants to connect to the power grid. There isn't room for everyone, so developers wait months, sometimes years, for an answer. Ryhla builds models of the distribution grid to find the best spots https://t.co/wFqCQJwPSn

About the launch
Ryhla models each feeder on the distribution and subtransmission grid so developers of solar, batteries, EV chargers, and small data centers can see where a project of 1 to 50 MW can connect before they file. Most teams only learn whether the grid has room after they pay a utility and wait months, sometimes years, for a rejection or an upgrade bill that ends the project. Interconnection queues are lengthening as those loads compete for the same local capacity, and the Y Combinator Fall 2026 company is launching so available capacity, project size, timeline, and upgrade cost can be checked before an application goes in. Feeder-level models are live for ComEd, PG&E, SCE, Oncor, Dominion Energy, Georgia Power, Xcel Energy, PSE&G, and New York utilities including NYSEG, RG&E, and Central Hudson. The models are trained on proprietary data, aligned with interconnection standards, and backtested against utility study results. Developers use them to pick a site, a feeder, and a point of interconnection, then size the project ahead of the filing. Sara El Baghdadi, CEO, and Yassine Guennoun, CTO, founded the San Francisco company. Both studied electrical engineering at École Polytechnique and completed master's degrees at Stanford, where their research covered power-grid time series and grid optimization.
