About the launch
PlotWeaver has released STORM Ensemble 3.0, a speech synthesis model that generates 24 kHz audio across 64 African and Nigerian languages plus English, using 166 named voices from a single 3 billion parameter model. It is built for developers, banks, telcos, broadcasters, and filmmakers who need Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, Nigerian Pidgin, Swahili, Amharic, Wolof, Zulu, Xhosa, and other languages in one integration, for alerts, calls, media, and broadcast, instead of a different speech system for every market. Named voices such as Oluwaseun (Yoruba), Hadiza (Hausa), Chidi (Igbo), Blessing (Nigerian Pidgin), and Juma (Swahili) are ready to call with no extra training. PlotWeaver says every voice in the launch film was generated by the model and left unedited, and that each language was checked speaker by speaker before release, with voices that missed the bar removed. The model sits on the company's STORM platform, which also offers consented voice cloning, transcription, translation, and live multilingual audio through REST and WebSocket endpoints. Founder and CEO Oluwole Fagbohun leads the London company, which is building voice tools for African languages and is part of NVIDIA Inception and AWS Activate.
