Paradev, formerly Superset, is a desktop workspace for engineers who already use CLI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor Agent, and Gemini. Each task gets its own Git worktree, branch, and terminals, and the app is built to orchestrate 100 or more of those agents in parallel, with diffs, tests, and an in-app browser preview in the same window. Engineers keep the agent subscriptions they already pay for. On October 26, 2026, the company renamed the product and announced an $11.5 million seed round led by Union Square Ventures, with Y Combinator and Paul Graham among the participants. The previous name was shared by other products and companies, so the team is switching to Paradev, their word for a developer with many agents working in parallel, on the same pattern as paralegal and paramedic. Existing users do not have to migrate. Accounts, workspaces, settings, and contracts carry over, the superset command keeps working, and paradev is an alias. The macOS app is free for running agents on your own machine. Linux builds are experimental, Windows is not available yet, and an iPhone and iPad app can reach the same workspaces. CEO Kiet Ho, CTO Satya Patel, and CPO Avi Peltz, each previously a CTO at a Y Combinator company, built the first version at a hackathon at YC headquarters in November 2025. Paradev is in YC's Spring 2026 batch and is based in San Francisco. In under a year, hundreds of thousands of developers in 180 countries have used it, including teams at one in eight Fortune 500 companies, and tens of thousands of engineers run it as a primary IDE.
