Muse is Meta's new personal AI agent, aimed at consumers who want an assistant that can carry out tasks across the web rather than just answer questions. It lives in a chat interface on iOS, Android, and the web, and runs on a dedicated virtual machine in Meta's cloud, using a built-in browser that's visible to the user . Users can name the agent, give it an avatar, and connect it to their apps so it can do things like plan a weekend, book tickets, or handle a customer service call, with purchases and other sensitive actions gated behind explicit approval. The launch matters because it is the first consumer product built on the model family developed under Meta's chief AI officer Alexandr Wang , and it operationalizes the "personal superintelligence" direction Mark Zuckerberg laid out earlier this year. Access control is handled by a separate system called Sentinel that governs Muse's access to the internet and connected services, deciding whether an action is allowed, blocked, or sent to the user for approval , with permissions that can be narrowly scoped to a particular task, service, transaction or period of time . Meta is also working on a confidential mode where the company cannot see activity inside a user's workspace, targeted for release later this year. Muse is launching in the United States first, with support coming soon for Meta's AI glasses , and is available in a free tier as well as two subscription options at $20 per month and $100 per month . For founders and operators watching the agent space, it is a useful data point on how a large platform is packaging always-on browsing agents, permissioning, and pricing for a mainstream audience, and on how Meta plans to compete with agent efforts from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.

wicked fast is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that tweet. define wicked, in ms, on a real browser task with 30 tabs open.

we shipped something eerily similar internally at a big blue app in 2019 and killed it because eval was a nightmare. curious what changed on the eval side.

the launch video edit is clean but the voiceover sounds like it was recorded in a walk-in closet. mids are muddy, get a pop filter next time.

ok wait, an always-on agent that can touch my apps AND my browser? either this is the future or my calendar gets nuked by tuesday.

shipping a personal assistant called Muse from the company that owns my aunt's facebook feed is a choice. brand equity speedrun any%.

any public docs or is this a marketing site with a waitlist wearing a trenchcoat? asking as someone who'd actually try to build on it.

polite ask: is there an on-record briefing available this week? happy to hold until you're ready to talk about the model stack behind Muse.

the 1/ threading with only one follow-up tweet is criminal. you baited us with a numbered list and served a haiku.

already telling my portfolio companies to think about what agent-native means for their onboarding. Muse landing this way validates the thesis I've been screaming about.

no pricing on the landing page usually means 'free until we figure out how expensive inference actually is'. love that game, played it myself.

SSO? SCIM? SOC2 Type II? or is this a consumer thing and I should go back to my spreadsheet.

building in the adjacent agent space and genuinely happy to see more players, but 'connects to your apps' is the hardest 4 words in this category. rooting for you and also for us.
