About the launch
Kimi 3D Make turns a written description, a sketch, or a reference image into a 3D model, an interactive web scene, or a small web game that the user can preview and revise in the browser. Designers, product managers, teachers, and people who want a printable object can start without opening modeling software. The feature is live now on kimi.ai, the Kimi app, and Kimi Work, using Kimi K3.1 Pro, which Moonshot AI released on October 23. K3.1 Pro infers an object's shape, proportions, and spatial relationships, then writes and runs scripts in Blender and CAD software to build geometry, edit parts, adjust materials, and lay out a scene. Moonshot says that path does not require MCP connectors. For games and larger interactive scenes, the model can also work in Unity, Unreal Engine, and Godot. In 3D Make, users choose 3D web, 3D modeling, or 3D printing, keep revising across chat turns, and can export a print-ready file, a video, or a Live Photo, and share a public link. Featured templates cover industrial design, architecture, everyday objects, and games, and a remix option reuses the prompt behind an official example. Moonshot AI is the Beijing lab behind the Kimi assistant. It was founded in March 2023 by Yang Zhilin, Zhou Xinyu, and Wu Yuxin, with Yang as CEO. K3.1 Pro is a multimodal mixture-of-experts model with 2.8 trillion total parameters, 104 billion active parameters, and a 1 million token context window. Moonshot has said the full weights will be released by November 4.
