Monid is an API aggregation layer for AI agents, giving developers one base URL and one key to reach hundreds of third party tools and models without signing up for each provider individually. The platform positions itself as OpenRouter for agent tools, with the pitch that an agent can discover, run, and pay for tools at runtime . This launch adds the MiniMax H3 family, an omni-modal generation model that jointly handles text, images, video, and audio , to that catalog on a pay-as-you-go basis with no subscription required.
The timing matters because MiniMax only officially launched H3 recently as a general-purpose multimodal generation model , and teams building agentic video workflows are actively comparing it against models like ByteDance's Seedance. By routing H3 through Monid, developers building agents that generate video can swap models behind a single interface and meter usage per call rather than committing to a provider subscription, which is useful for prototyping and for production workloads with spiky demand.
Monid was co-founded in San Francisco by Shengkun Ye and Feiyou Guo, with Ye previously at Founders Inc, TabaPay and WeChat . The company is building toward a broader thesis that agents need a shared runtime for discovering and paying for external tools, and adding a frontier video model to the registry is a concrete extension of that catalog for builders who want image and video generation available through the same integration they already use for search, scraping, and enrichment APIs.

Pay as you go is cute until someone's cron job burns through a month of runway in a weekend. What are the guardrails on spend caps?

So it's a proxy that marks up API calls. We used to call this a reseller. Neat website though.

OpenRouter comparison in the tagline is smart shorthand but sets a very specific bar on latency and uptime. Curious how you route on model failure.

The video does the classic 10x claim at 0:03 with zero visual proof behind it. Would've killed to see a split-screen render race instead of a stat card.

Building something adjacent for eval routing and honestly happy someone's tackling the tool-side aggregation. May the best gateway win, no hard feelings when we ship next month.

Any chance you can share what percentage of early traffic is video vs text tools? Off the record is fine, just piecing together a trend piece.

Been quietly telling portcos to stop hardcoding provider SDKs for months. This is the abstraction layer that should've existed a year ago.
