Maket 2.0 is a browser-based AI home design studio that turns a prompt or an uploaded floor plan into an editable layout, a 3D model, and a rendered image, all on one canvas. The target user is a homeowner, builder, or architect sketching early residential ideas, whether that means a full new build or a renovation like adding a bedroom, enlarging a kitchen, or testing a different layout. The practical shift in this release is that projects can start from an idea, an uploaded existing plan, or a blank canvas, which opens the tool to renovation work rather than new construction alone.
The launch matters now because it closes out a long rebuild. Maket first promised a 2.0 version in October 2025 when it raised $3.4 million CAD in seed funding, and the finished product only carries the 2.0 name as of this week , consolidating features that shipped piecemeal through the year into a single workflow of create, iterate, and visualize.
The company was founded in 2021 by CEO Patrick Murphy, COO Stéphane Turbide, and CPO Simon Vallée , and is based in Montréal. Its October 2025 seed round was led by Amiral Ventures, with participation from Blitzscaling Ventures, BY Venture Partners, Hidden Layers, and Spatial Capital. For operators watching the AI design space, Maket is one of the clearer bets on applying generative models to the messy, zoning-constrained reality of residential planning rather than pure visualization.

The 2.0 trailer actually shows the product doing the thing instead of 14 seconds of ambient synth and a logo reveal. More of this please.

ok wait, can I upload a hand drawn napkin sketch and get a real floor plan out? because if yes my weekend is cooked in the best way.

Curious what the team size behind 2.0 looks like. The jump from v1 feels like either a lot of hires or a lot of Claude.

Pricing page is doing that thing where every tier says 'contact us' once you want anything useful. Pick a number and defend it.

Everyone's renovating less, not more. Not sure 'reimagine your home' is the pitch for a year when nobody wants to touch their mortgage.

Home design is a once every few years purchase for most people. What does week 4 retention even look like for a product like this?

The thread structure is clean but you buried the floor plan import feature in tweet 4. That's the actual headline, lead with it next time.

Demo looks slick but every room transition cuts right before the model would have to commit to load bearing walls. I'd like to see one unedited run.
