Kanu AI builds software that turns how a company already works into applications that run inside the company's own cloud. Staff walk Kanu through a task and connect the systems they already use, and Kanu then builds those workflows into software that runs in the customer's own cloud , with data staying with the customer and accessed through existing permissions . The target buyer is an enterprise sitting on knowledge scattered across Salesforce, SharePoint, Outlook, spreadsheets, PDFs, maps and databases, plus a lot of institutional know-how that only lives in people's heads. The launch marks the company's exit from stealth with an $11.7 million seed round led by Trilogy Equity Partners , joined by Accel, BMW i Ventures and a16z speedrun . Founder and CEO Karan Grover is a machine learning engineer, a three-time founder and a Y Combinator alumnus who previously worked as an engineer at Amazon and DoorDash . The Seattle-based team is small, around ten people, and is hiring across engineering and go-to-market as the product moves from stealth customers to broader distribution through AWS Marketplace and Google Cloud Marketplace. Early traction is concentrated in document-heavy industries including commercial real estate, insurance, financial services and technology , where Kanu replaces stitched-together manual processes with auditable workflows. The company points to one deployment where an analysis process that ran across PDFs, email, spreadsheets, CRM data and mapping systems was cut from up to eight weeks to under ten minutes , with every output inspectable so a reviewer can see what Kanu read and how it reached a conclusion. For operators evaluating enterprise AI right now, the launch is a bet that the winning pattern is customer-owned software generated from real workflows rather than another horizontal copilot layered on top of existing SaaS.

The 'knowledge in people's heads' line is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. Half our portfolio pitched the same opening in 2024 and the other half will pitch it next quarter.

ok wait, maps? you snuck maps into the data sources list and nobody is talking about it. who is sitting on tribal knowledge inside a map, field ops?

Also, deployment model? VPC or are we routing through your tenant. These are the questions that actually close deals.

The tweet media cuts off mid-sentence at 'Your best salesperson' and honestly that's the best hook you could've written by accident. Shipping ambiguity as marketing.

Before I forward this to my CISO: SOC2 Type 2, SSO on the base tier, and does the model touch our data at rest. Procurement will ask, I promise you.

This might be the final enterprise knowledge product shipped without an agent framework underneath. Everything after Q2 is going to look embarrassingly static next to it.

Love the surface area but one more thing: ingest Slack and Confluence next, that's where the actual decisions get buried. The salesperson's head is just the DMs they haven't exported yet.

Hot take, the Salesforce + SharePoint + Outlook combo on one slide is a trauma response for anyone who has done an enterprise rollout. I felt that line in my spine.
