Jitsu is an open-source data integration and event collection platform used by data teams to move event streams from websites, apps, and servers into warehouses and downstream tools. This launch adds Observability Exports, which lets teams pipe the same real-time data they already see in Jitsu's Live Events view into Datadog, Grafana Cloud, New Relic, Elastic, or a self-hosted OpenTelemetry Collector. Setup happens inside the account's Settings under a new Observability tab.
The feature matters because Live Events lets users capture and analyze user interactions, page views, and other events as they happen , and until now that visibility was locked inside Jitsu's UI. By emitting the same event, function log, and destination-write signals as standard telemetry, on-call engineers can alert on pipeline failures, correlate ingestion issues with the rest of their infrastructure, and keep event data health on the same dashboards as everything else they monitor.
Jitsu is a YC S20 company founded by Vladimir Klimontovich, a repeat founder previously behind GetIntent. The launch is announced by team member Soham Mehta and slots into Jitsu's broader push over the last year, including an MCP server for agent-driven pipeline debugging, to make the platform easier to operate in production stacks that already run on OpenTelemetry-compatible tooling.

Live Events into Datadog is the boring integration everyone actually wanted. Nice to see a launch that isn't just 'we bolted an agent onto it'.

How's the docs page for the OTel Collector setup? Asking because half these 'OTel supported' launches ship a README that says 'coming soon.'

OTel Collector support on day one is the tell that someone on the team has actually run a pipeline at 3am. Respect.

one more thing for the roadmap: sampling rules per destination. I don't need every debug event in New Relic eating my budget.

ok wait, so I can finally stop screenshotting Live Events into Slack when a payload looks weird? Genuinely the workflow upgrade of my quarter.

Still waiting to hear why this beats piping to Segment and calling it a day, but sure, 2024 me is listening.

The screenshot in the thread is doing a lot of work here. Would've killed for a 15 second screen recording showing an event actually landing in Grafana.

Tweet copy is refreshingly free of 'we're excited to announce.' Just what it does, where it goes, how to turn it on. More of this please.

Curious about data residency on the export path. If my events originate in the EU and stream to a US-region Datadog, who's holding the bag?

Ship the pipes, not the vibes. This is the correct energy for infra launches.
