Jitsu MCP is a Model Context Protocol server that lets coding agents in Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, or VS Code operate a full event data pipeline through natural language. It targets data and platform engineers who already use Jitsu, the open-source Segment alternative that collects event data from websites, apps, and servers and delivers it to warehouses and downstream tools , and now want to configure and debug that plumbing without leaving their editor. A single command registers the remote server at use.jitsu.com/mcp, after which the agent can act against a live workspace.
Once connected, the agent can configure destinations and streams, debug pipelines by querying Live Events and function logs in real time, execute JavaScript Functions against test data and iterate on them, and trigger or cancel connector syncs while inspecting sync state . That covers most of the day-to-day surface area of running an event pipeline, from wiring a new ClickHouse or BigQuery destination to fixing a broken transform, and it works against both Jitsu Cloud and self-hosted installs. The launch matters because event pipeline work has historically meant clicking through a console or hand-editing YAML, and this collapses those loops into the same agent session where the tracking code itself is being written.
Jitsu was founded by Peter Wysinski and CTO Vladimir Klimontovich , and the MCP release fits a broader push at the company toward agent-driven workflows, alongside a public OpenAPI spec and the jitsu-cli for scripting and CI. For teams already piping events through Jitsu, it removes a context switch. For teams evaluating a Segment replacement, it is a concrete signal that the product is being built for engineers who now expect their infrastructure to be legible to an LLM.

An MCP for event pipelines is the exact kind of thing I didn't know I wanted until I saw the install command was one line. Now I'm annoyed my Segment setup took three weeks.

Is the server open source or do we squint at the docs and pray? Asking for the DevRel channel I'm about to get pinged in.

ok wait, so my agent can now break my analytics AND blame it on hallucinations? incredible unlock for plausible deniability.

The tweet buries the lede. 'run your entire event pipeline in Cursor' should have been the first six words, not paragraph two.

Curious how you're handling schema drift when the agent auto-generates events. One typo away from a warehouse full of 'buton_clik' rows.

Any chance this handles EU data residency out of the box or is that a 'talk to sales' situation? My compliance team has a spreadsheet ready.

hot take: MCP servers are becoming the new Zapier and nobody wants to admit it.

Building something adjacent in the CDP space and honestly this is a clever wedge. Wish we'd shipped the MCP angle first, kudos.

Pricing page still shows the usual tiers but no mention of MCP call volume. Agents love to loop, so someone's gonna get a fun bill next month.

the copy 'here's how it works' followed by two links is the laziest reveal structure ever and yet it worked on me, I clicked both.

Every MCP launch this week has used the exact same 'add the server, run this' cadence. Someone made a template and I need to find them.

been 3 weeks out from launching my own event router for like 8 months. this launch just added another 3 weeks to that timeline.

one more thing for the roadmap: let the agent propose new tracking plans based on existing warehouse queries. would close the loop nicely.

the demo video pacing is solid but the terminal font is doing that thing where it looks great to devs and unreadable to everyone else. bump it two sizes.

Recruiting a senior data eng in Berlin who's been begging for something like this. If you're hiring on the Jitsu side, my DMs are wide open.
