About the launch
Input is an email product from Amsterdam-based Input Systems, built for people and teams who work out of their inbox. It connects to Google, Microsoft, iCloud, and other IMAP accounts and helps you read, organize, search, draft, and send mail. Calendar tools and shared inboxes are included depending on plan. Early access opened through a waitlist on October 29, 2026, with the first beta invites going out the same day, after more than a year of building. AI features summarize threads, suggest replies, research contacts, and carry out tasks, and some of that work runs in the background. Contact research draws on public sources for roles, company details, websites, and profile images. If you authorize it, Input can send email, change mailbox items, update calendar events, or use connected services without a separate confirmation for each step. Input Systems says it does not sell personal information, does not use email content for advertising, and does not use mailbox content or AI conversations to train general-purpose models. The company was founded by Krijn Rijshouwer, previously at Framer and OpenAI, and Alex Buis. It first launched as Lemni. In February 2025 it raised a $3.5 million pre-seed led by Sequoia, with Designer Fund and investors including former Snowflake CEO Frank Slootman, Mistral founder Arthur Mensch, and Framer founders Koen Bok and Jorn van Dijk. Lemni's first product let businesses set up AI agents for customer conversations, and that product remains available for now.
