Flam builds an AI infrastructure platform that lets creators generate interactive videos, real-time 3D experiences, and hyper-real visual agents , aimed at enterprises that want their content to respond to viewers rather than play at them. The San Francisco and Bengaluru company groups its output into three formats: Flicks (AI-generated interactive videos with compression algorithms tuned for instantaneous playback), Airboards (high-fidelity 3D content streamed to devices and camera interfaces via a proprietary model called Fable), and Visual Agents (hyper-realistic avatars powered by an identity-preservation model called Fantom paired with a 26 billion-parameter mixture-of-experts model, Falcon) .
The launch marks Flam's exit from stealth alongside a $40 million Series B led by QED Investors, with participation from Claypond Capital, Australian Gulf Capital, the SRK Family Office, Datadog CEO Olivier Pomel, and Martin Chavez, plus existing backers RTP Global and Dovetail . It matters now because generative video and avatar quality has crossed a threshold where two-way, programmatic content is starting to look practical at production scale, and Flam is positioning its stack as the plumbing brands can use to ship it. The company says it has signed more than 100 enterprise customers, including Google, over the past 18 months .
Flam was founded by BITS Pilani alumni Shourya Agarwal, Malhar Patil and Amit Gaiki , with Agarwal as CEO. The new capital is earmarked for continued R&D, expanding the product suite with new "flams," and growing sales operations , as the team pushes an argument that passive, one-directional media has been a constraint of tooling rather than of what audiences actually want.

the SRK cameo in the cap table is the most Bollywood way to announce a Series B and I am fully here for it.

cool reveal but where do I find the API docs? asking as someone who wants to break things before marketing tells me to stop.

the tweet copy is doing a lot of heavy lifting with 'AI for the internet beyond videos'. beyond videos meaning... images? text? vibes? help a reader out.

AR on the web? we were doing this in 2019 with 8th wall and calling it the future. what's actually new here besides the model on the backend?

hot take: the launch video is way more polished than the tagline. someone in marketing needs a raise and someone else needs a thesaurus.

the demo looked great but was any of that rendered live or is it all pre-baked assets served from a CDN? asking for a friend running the infra.

'time to break free' is a bold slogan for a company whose product locks content inside a proprietary player, but ok.

ok wait, QED usually does fintech. either they're pivoting or Flam pitched this as payments for attention, which honestly slaps as a framing.

any color on revenue milestones tied to this round, or is that a 'ping me on signal' conversation?

curious how the AR content moderation stack works when brands can drop 3D assets into any webpage. that's a legal team's nightmare fuel.

you don't win the internet by adding more layers. you win by making the ones we have feel alive.
