How Cyclon introduced an AI phone to replace the iPhone on X
AI phone that uses your apps, builds missing ones, and handles tasks
What Cyclon launched

An AI phone to replace your iPhone. That’s what we’re building at Cyclon (YC F26). If you can do it on your phone, you should be able to ask your phone to do it. AI uses the apps you already have, builds the ones you’re missing, and handles tasks in the background. https://t.co/HayifId22X

About the launch
Cyclon is building a phone and operating system that carries out the tasks you ask for, working inside the Android apps already installed and the accounts already signed in. It is for people who want the phone to send messages, place orders, make calls, and move information from one app to another. Pre-orders are open with this launch. Eligible US buyers in the first batch receive a Google Pixel 8a running Cyclon OS within 30 days, and Cyclon's own phone is expected in Q2 2027, subject to FCC authorization. The assistant can continue in the background after you ask, and you can still open any app and use the phone yourself. If the app you need does not exist, you describe it and Cyclon builds it in a separate cloud sandbox, then adds it to the phone. You can turn off access for any app, and some steps, including identity checks, still need you. Completing a request can send relevant screen content, messages, or location to Cyclon's AI providers, and settings let you limit what is shared by data type and by app. Adam Zinebi and Thomas Kiefer founded Cyclon and are designing the hardware and the OS together. Zinebi, the CEO, studied electronics and miniaturized hardware at EPFL and previously worked at Oracle, UC Berkeley, and CentraleSupélec. Kiefer, the CTO, previously worked on Android at Google. The company is in Y Combinator's Fall 2026 batch and is based in San Francisco. A fully refundable $199 deposit reserves a place toward an estimated $699 price, and early access includes AI usage with no subscription.
