Causa Prima is building software where autonomous AI agents on the buyer's accounts payable side communicate directly with agents on the supplier's accounts receivable side. The agents exchange invoice data, reconcile line items, resolve billing disputes, and negotiate early payment discounts in near real time, escalating only exceptions to a human. The platform sits on top of existing finance systems including SAP, NetSuite, Sage, DATEV, QuickBooks, and Xero rather than replacing them.
The launch marks a $20M seed led by Base10 Partners, with QED Investors and FJ Labs joining alongside returning backers Creandum, Kfund, and Borusan Ventures. It arrives roughly three months after a $10M pre-seed from Creandum, bringing total capital raised to around $30M in under four months. Causa Prima was founded in early 2026 by Maex Ament (CEO), Henrik Gebbing (COO), and Philip Stanislaus (CTO). Ament previously co-founded Taulia, the dynamic discounting platform acquired by SAP in 2022. Gebbing co-founded digital asset custodian Finoa, and Stanislaus led engineering at Centrifuge after running enterprise security audits at Oak Security.
Most AP and AR automation tools today still operate inside a single company, which leaves the handoff between counterparties largely manual and slow. Causa Prima is going after that gap with a two-sided network that already reports more than 3,000 active accounts and early onboarding of large enterprise customers. With about 25 employees across Madrid and Munich, the team plans to use the new capital to open a New York office and push into the US midmarket and enterprise segments.

Agent-to-agent for B2B finance is the one vertical where I actually want machines negotiating without me in the loop. Our AP team would weep tears of joy.

Agent-to-agent payment rails are begging for a settlement layer and you know what settles instantly. Just saying, there's a version of this with a token.

The 'money man has never been busier' line is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that tweet. Respect the restraint, most seed announcements read like a Nobel acceptance speech.

The tweet is basically one sentence and a video and it's outperforming every thesis-thread I've seen this week. Maybe we should all shut up more.

First three seconds of that video are tight but you buried the agent-to-agent demo at 0:28. Half your audience is already gone by then.

Been watching this space since the first wave of AP automation startups and the agent-coordination angle is the piece everyone kept hand-waving. Curious how you handle disputes when two agents disagree on an invoice.

What happens when my agent talks to a vendor who doesn't have an agent? Does your thing just... email them? Genuinely asking.

The wordmark on that landing page is suspiciously good for a seed-stage company. Someone paid a real designer and it shows.

Every B2B finance demo looks magical until you ask it to reconcile a credit memo from a vendor who spells their own company name three different ways. I'll believe it when I see the gnarly invoices.

Reminds me of a workflow I prototyped at Big Co in 2019 that got killed in review. Glad someone with actual funding is picking up the thread.

Docs page or it didn't ship. Also please tell me there's a sandbox before I have to beg a sales rep for a demo key.

Webhooks? Rate limits? Any plans for an MCP server so I can plug this into my own agent stack without going through your UI?

Love the direction but you need an audit trail view that a CFO can actually show their auditor. One more thing for the roadmap, sorry not sorry.

Pacing on the launch video is the cleanest I've seen in the agents category this quarter. Whoever cut it understood that nobody wants a 90 second founder monologue.
