RouterPlus is an inference gateway that picks the right model and provider for each workload a team is running, aimed at engineering and ML teams who are juggling multiple LLMs across production. It routes on your own evals and production traffic, gives you every model worth running behind one key, and lines up the capacity you will need next. Instead of choosing a single frontier model and hoping it generalizes, teams can score candidates against their own quality bar and send different tasks (support triage, extraction, code review, agents) to whichever model clears it at the best price.
The product covers both closed and open-weight models behind one API, with data compliance rules enforced on every request, regional routing, and production-grade SLAs. There are two billing paths: a marketplace that uses prepaid credits at listed model rates, and a bring-your-own-key mode where the underlying provider bills you directly and RouterPlus charges no inference fee. Existing OpenAI or Anthropic-compatible clients can connect by swapping the base URL and key, and an Optimize feature compares candidate setups against a baseline on held-out eval cases before anything is deployed. Reserved capacity is available for teams planning migrations between closed and open models or onboarding new providers.
The launch matters now because model churn has become a weekly operational problem for AI teams, and single-vendor commitments are getting expensive to maintain as better open-weight options keep landing. RouterPlus is part of the YC F26 batch and the launch was posted by Alok Bishoyi, an IIT Bombay alum who is building the company.

The landing page gradient is doing a lot of heavy lifting but the product name sits weirdly off-center on mobile. Fix the hero and I'll stop staring at it.

The launch video pacing is tight but the voiceover sounds like it was recorded in a parking garage. Would have paid attention twice as long with cleaner audio.

Routing to the cheapest provider is cute until the cheapest provider has a 3am outage and your eval regresses. What's the fallback story look like?

Before I pipe prod traffic through you, I need SOC2, SSO, and a DPA. Ping me when procurement can actually move.

How big is the team shipping this? If it's under four people I'm going to be insufferable about it on my own timeline.

So this is like OpenRouter but with a plus sign? Walk me through what's actually new here because I missed the last six routing launches.

Building adjacent in the eval space, happy to see more teams take routing seriously. Curious if you expose the eval harness or keep it as a black box.

This is probably the last router launched without an agent orchestrating the routing. Mark my words, by Q2 someone ships RouterPlus but with memory and a vibe.

What's the take rate on routed inference and does it compress as providers race to the floor? Asking before I type the word interesting.

Every routing demo looks great on three cherry-picked prompts. Show me a messy prod workload and I'll believe the price claim.

I've been three weeks out from launching my own eval tool for about nine months now. Seeing F26 batches ship already is making me close Twitter.
